Tim Byrne, one of the
pioneers in skateboard ministry has been traveling and sharing the Gospel for
10yrs. After his radical salvation in 2000, Tim joined Manna Skateboards, which
was the first company to book and market a skateboard company to the Christian
public. While this was a new concept, God used this ministry in a big
way. Within a year of joining Manna Tim turned pro and placed in the top 5
in the world at his first Pro Freestyle contest! Things were moving fast with a
lot of opportunities to do many things. Tim’s focus was not to be
glorified, but to see people come to know Jesus and to share the love that
changed his life forever.
In 2003 Tim met his wife
Liz and moved to Portland, OR to work for Luis Palau’s action sports ministry
Livin It. Livin It combined actor Stephen Baldwin and some of the top
skateboarders (including Tim) and BMX riders in the action sports industry who
loved Jesus.
Today, Brian is the most decorated Freestyle Motocross rider
in the competition’s history with 13 X-Games medals to his name, including X
Games 17 Gold medal in Rally Cross. He also holds the elite distinction
of being the only rider to compete in every X Games competition since the
games’ inception. In the last year, Brian has dominated the off-road
trucking world, taking both Lucas Oil Pro 2 Unlimited and Pro Lite Unlimited
Championships, being named Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year in Pro 2 Unlimited, and
taking home the 2011 Lucas Oil Driver of the Year (which he also won in 2010). Brian
currently competes in Motocross, Freestyle Motocross, Rally Car, and Short
Course Trucks as founder and owner of the Metal Mulisha. In a culture
where lifestyles can be far from Christ like, these Christians are faced with
the daily challenge of walking in obedience and being a light in a dark place. Lusk recently became a Christian and was vocal about
his faith. It is also reported that his wife received Christ the evening before
his funeral, and during the funeral, many others came forward to receive Christ
as their Savior. Fellow rider and friend, Brian Deegan, invited Lusk to the
group Bible studies, which led to his decision to surrender his life to Christ.
